Welcome to Porn World

My name is Noelle (it’s nice to meet you!)

I’m a writer, producer, and Internet porn historian with nearly ten years of experience working platform-side for multiple mainstream and independent adult industry companies. Having written everything from Food Network porn parodies to legally binding terms and conditions, much of my current work explores the blurry borders of obscenity and how pornography’s history can influence our digital and political futures. My writing work has been published on Wired, Washington Post, them, Slate, Input, and more. I’ve also been featured as an industry expert on BBC, CBC, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, on Netflix's 2023 documentary Money Shot, and I’ve spoken at multiple universities and conferences.

I love porn- for obvious reasons, but also because it gives us access to information we wouldn’t otherwise have. Information about people’s most private desires and insecurities- information about political motivation and wide-reaching power structures- porn has it all!

I believe that understanding our most private (and even, or especially sordid) histories is necessary to responsibly influence our future. If you’ve read this far, maybe you agree.
